I've chosen Marc Zuckerberg as a person of the year. His biggest invent 'facebook' is so much popular all over the Earth that it seems to me that there will be nobody on Earth who don't have an account. Even this is enough to make Marc so popular. He is known today as the richest young people. He was chosen as a man of the year in 2011 by TIME. I think his real success was by making a pity program for university students' conversation but it became a world-wide conversation. Of course there are lots of harms o Facebook application but it's beneficial ways shouldn't neglected. At the 2013 tech conference, Zuckerberg stated that he is working towards registering the 5 billion humans who were not connected to the Internet as of the conference on Facebook. Zuckerberg then explained that this is intertwined with the aim of the Internet.org project, whereby Facebook, with the support of other technology companies, seeks to increase the number of people connected to the internet.Zuckerberg also created an account with Google+ soon after the social network was unveiled, saying he sees it as a "validation for his vision" of online social networking. In June 2013, Zuckerberg joined Facebook employees in a company float as part of the annual San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Celebration.At a party put on by his fraternity during his sophomore year, Zuckerberg met Priscilla Chan, a fellow student who he began dating in 2003.On Zuckerberg's Facebook page, he listed his personal interests as "openness, making things that help people connect and share what's important to them, revolutions, information flow, minimalism". I think these qualifications are enough to make him so popular and candidate for the man of 2013.

This video is about a corruption scandal in Turkey. On the 17th of December , Turkey woke up some custody and bribe news. Everybody was shocked because nearly 4,5 billion dollars was stolen and reserved in a shoe box. After these news , some of the ministers resigned normally. The video maker's perspective was  neutral. He briefly reported the new as was expected but he could have reflect the inner parts of the news with some personal views. For example , he could justify his opinions by adding some personal opinions or he could have given us detailed information about prime minister's and president's opinions because these two men are controlling the country. He could have given us the situation's of men in custody. However , there is one right thing : this is a breaking new. As they did , there was no need to add a song. My personal opinions about the content of the video is very important. There was a bribery , corruption , injustices and what is important is the people of Turkey learnt these awful news one morning suddenly. Several people's rights were ignored by rich people. What is the poors sin ? They have no right to make such things. As a country , all our desires about it is to make these guilty men in jail. Everybody is blaming the others. We are just watching their arguments happily but it wrong , as a citizen we should show our reaction. It can be with vote or just being together in a street and making an announcement.

PRIVILEGES FOR WOMEN

Nowadays , as in the past , there is fierce debate over whether there are privileges for women or not. My opinion for this debate is women have really privileges in our country by our society. I have chosen this topic because our society is not interested in this topic very well. For me , especially in my life , I lived such discrimination against me. For example , in the meal queue , always women are first because of their gender. I think it is totally unfair. Of course they have different body system compared to mens' but it doesn't necessarily mean that they should have privileges. I dislike this behaviour. I like being fair to each gender equally. Also I think that this can create problems in society. However , there are opposing views to this topic. Their claim is women are both physically and emotionally different from men. They are respected much and they are precious. I agree this opinion partially. They are right in saying women are precious but again it doesn't mean to be privileged. These are examples : The mayor of Tekirdag announced that we made privileges to women while searching job. I think the rationale behind this application is very important. This is for hindering depriving of women from business. In addition , there was a speech '' Both men and women are equal '' . I  strongly oppose this view when I think from the aspect of positive discrimination. Some people states that  women should make a selection between a job and staying at home. I also disagree with them because it restricts their freedom. My suggestion for this problem is highly relevant with the government and society's general view. Of course we can't change their opinions totally , but there is always something to do and make our people conscious for discrimination is one of them...

I chose really important politic man for our column for this week. He is Muhsin Yazicioglu , who is dead now. Also in this way I will reminiscence him. He borned in 1959 in Sivas and unfortunately he dead in a hovercraft crash in 2009 while going to different city for making a propaganda. His life was full of success. He graduated from Ankara University , faculty of vet. He was also founder of 'Big Union Party'. In his politic life , he had never leave from truth. Even his enemies envied of his success and right politic life. He was very idealist man. He attended a unity about idealism in Sivas ,then he went to Ankara for university. After 1980 , he stayed in jail for nearly 8 years. He was also assistant of the Nationalist Movement Party's minister till 1980. His popular poem ' I am cold ' was written in Mamak jail. He left his prior party by thinking their ideas aren't suitable for me. For this reason , he founded a new party called as Big Union Party whose symbol is rose. He was the general manager of this party. His religious emotions were higher so this party was founded on a religious basement. He was chosen to be a deputy for two times. Everybody including his family , friends appreciated his kindly , friendly behaviours.His background was somewhat full of grief but he combined his willingness for serving Turkey with great perseverance.He had never given up from his ideas. He always wanted to serve to Turkey as much as he could do.His all future plans were about Turkey , not based on personal benefits.This characteristic made him prominent and good intended person.  However , he made his lovers sad when his hovercraft crashed on the 25th of March in 2009. There were lots of speculations about his death even today. 700.000 people attented his funeral. They were very sad. If he had lived today , I believe that he would be a respected leader of our country but interestingly he was killed , I think. When someone gain a success in our country , especially he or she is a politician , there is immediate attempt of conspiracy. We all wish that he is alive today. Great respects for him , rest in peace honest man...

INTRODUCING MYSELF

I am Mehmet from Ankara,Turkey. I am 18 years old. I am studying English language teaching at one of best universities in Turkey , METU. I like dealing with languages , in fact ,even  learning a word in a day is my ambition , because it will be my business in near future.These are my personal features . I love being with my family and of course with my friends. Because of my being in dormitories for 5 years , mostly I want to be at home ,or live as if at home.Thanks to my friends supports , I don’t have difficulties so much. As everybody do , I like reading books especially historical and adventural ones.Listening joyful and sentimental musics are my other hobby.I am very ambitious , I’ve never given up to difficulties , particularly in exams because I like studying hard unlike people who don’t like it.Also i ile teaching  because it is my business’s requirement.I think that if somebody knows sometihng , she or he should teach it to the others , as the candles do.I like interacting with people , I easily meet them. Also I like finding solutions to problems.My other hobbies are playing tennis , basketball, watching football matches. My biggest dream is going to London ,or somewhere in Europe. Anyway , I really interested in etymology , because researching in vocabularies is very strange and joyful for me. I mad about Istanbul , just smelling the sea odour makes me better , i hope i will settle there in future.
